Laurie R. Chane
Laurie R. Chane practices Family Law and is a Criminal Defense lawyer. She has more than 25 years of experience serving clients with complex issues related to divorce, child custody and support, as well as criminal defense issues such as DUI, domestic violence, probation violations, drug charges, theft and serious violent felonies.
Ms. Chane began her career in East Pasco County where she spent several years as an Assistant Public Defender. As an assistant Public Defender she had the responsibility of representing people charged with a variety of crimes from Petit Theft, DUI, Sexual Battery and Capital Murder. In that practice, she earned her reputation as a skilled and aggressive trial attorney.
After leaving the Office of the Public Defender, Ms. Chane entered private practice as a partner in the law firm of Chane & Eble, P.A. It was there that she established herself as a family law lawyer. She represented hundreds of clients in divorce, child custody, paternity and step-parent adoption cases. Her trial skills learned while she was an assistant public defender made her a strong litigator and negotiator. Since that time she has become a sole practitioner. While her law practice continues to be primarily family law and criminal defense work, the manner that she practices has changed. Ms. Chane is regularly mediates cases on behalf of parties in a family law case and has also acted as the mediator on a regular basis. Most recently she has adopted Collaborative Law into her family practice and is a member of the Next Generation Divorce practice group. She presently leads the Pasco POD for Next Generation Professionals.

A Florida native, Ms. Chane received her bachelor’s degree from University of South Florida, and her law degree from the University of Miami College of Law. Ms. Chane has practiced law in Pasco County and surrounding counties since 1990. Presently she is the President of the East Pasco Bar Association. She is an active member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom where she presently serves on the Executive Board.
When Ms. Chane isn’t practicing law, she can most often be found with her husband, Rob. They recently celebrated twenty six years of marriage. Together they have two daughters, one a senior in high school and the other a senior in college. She also has an amazing dog, Annie who is often in the office with her. You will know if Annie is there because she will greet you as you walk it, escort you to "her" office and demand a consult fee of at least one dog biscuit.
Stacey Hawley is a seasoned paralegal with 120 years of experience mainly in the area of family law. She is always described as a kind-hearted and compassionate person, with the ability to truly empathize and relate to clients; all while proving to be an instrumental team member producing quality work. Ms. Hawley began her career at the Clerk’s office and has steadily moved up to pursue her passion of helping people by assisting the attorney to provide the best possible service to the clients in court and out of court.
Stacey is a Florida Registered Paralegal and has been since April 2008, when the Florida Bar first opened a spot to recognize paralegals for their achievements and activity in the legal field.
Stacey holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Legal Assisting, as well as an Associate of Arts degree, graduating Cum Laude.
Stacey’s son is in the military and she is very proud of his decision to become an American Soldier.
Annie the Dog
Annie, the Chane Law mascot, is a 11-year-old Labradoodle. She enjoys keeping Laurie, Stacey and their clients company in the office, and isn't shy about asking for treats.
